Jerusalem retains WBC crown
MELVIN Jerusalem of the Philippines made a successful defense of his WBC world strawweight title with a unanimous decision win over the previously-unbeaten Luis Castillo of Mexico at the packed Mandaluyong City College.
The 30-year-old Filipino champion knocked down his Mexican challenger late in the first round to win the fight supported by boxing legend Manny Pacquiao thru Blow By Blow.
Jerusalem won the nod of all three judges – – 120-107 twice and 118-109.
