Imus pushes ‘no segregation, no collection’ policy

IMUS CITY, Cavite – The City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) here launched an information dissemination campaign on the “No Segregation, No Collection Policy” in compliance with the order of the new administration to clean the environment and teach the proper disposal of waste to every resident of the city.

Based on the order of Mayor Alex “AA” Advincula, the “No Segregation, No Collection Policy” is to encourage residents from 97 villages to reduce the volume of trash hauled by trash trucks and save on trucking fees by separating biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and recyclable items.

CENRO goes to every barangay and sitios to inform the new waste and garbage collection policy and explain the program’s importance.

The said department has already conducted seminars in barangays of Pag-asa 2 and 3, Bagong Silang, Pasong Buaya 2, Poblacion 1-A, Toclong 1-A, and Woodlane Subdivision in Malagasang 1-A; barangays Bucandala 1, Medicion 2-B, Alapan 1-A, Alapan 2-A, Pinagbuklod, Bucandala 4, Medicion 2-E, Medicion 2-F; and Tanzang Luma 5.

A river cleanup activity was also conducted in Bgy. Buhay na Tubig and collected trash on Imus Blvd. in Bgy. Malagasang 1-G, Imus National High School and NIA Road in Bgy. Bucandala 3, Biking and Jogging Area in Bgy. Medicion 2-F, and Bgy. Carsadang Bago 2.

The Bantay Kalikasan Team will also conduct regular cleanup activities in different barangays in the locality, including road clearing operations and information dissemination of the Imus Inter-Department Task Force.

The said order is in accordance with Executive Order No. 19-A and under Republic Act No. 9003, or “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000”.

The Imus Inter-Department Task Force is directed to inform Imuseños of the implemented DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2022-085, where nothing shall obstruct the public ways of people and traffic.
