Ilocos Norte initiates drug-free workplaces

CAMP VALENTIN Juan, Laoag City–The Ilocos Norte Police Office was declared with a “sustained drug-free workplaces” status nationwide.

Acting Provincial Director Police Colonel Frederick Obar conducted the conferment of drug-free workplaces of the 84 awardees composed of 1 Police Regional Office, Ilocos Norte PPO and the 3 other Provincial Offices, 23 Local Government Units, 23 PNP Stations, 2 Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO) Provincial Mobile Force Companies; 8 Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Stations; 10 schools; 5 business establishments; and 8 other government agency offices.

The credit was given to Col. Julius Suriben, who had been police director for two years.

The program was launched in the last quarter of 2022 in line with the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan Program of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the program that amplifies the government’s campaign against illegal drugs and to achieve a drug-free Philippines.
