‘Green’ coal plant to rise soon in Bataan
BATAAN CAPITOL – As part of the province’s program to set up more clean energy, a foreign company will soon set up a “green” coal plant facility in Bataan.
This development came after signing an agreement between Bataan Governor Joet S. Garcia and Mackay Negros Bana Charcoal Corporation Saturday (January 21), inside “The Bunker.”
Representing the provincial government of Bataan, Garcia, together with Mackay Negros Bana Charcoal Corporation, represented by their chairman James Ronaldson Mackay, led the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
The MOU aims to build a “green” coal plant facility in Bataan.
Garcia said this renewable energy project “is related to our promotion of green energy if the corporation that uses Bana Grass – will be our partner in producing the so-called green coal.”
“With this method, our province has the resources of clean and safe energy for the health of everyone, both in nature and the environment,” the governor added.
Earlier, Grun Arkitekten, led by its chairman Garry Carl S. From and its president Joel Esparrago, and Erika Daiz Froa, vice president, paid a courtesy call to the Bataan governor where they expressed their interest to put up 100 MW waste-to-energy and Biomass in Bataan.
Grun Arkitekten had already signed an agreement with a town mayor for its proposed clean energy project.
