A LAWMAKER has assured that aside from aid, the government also continues to provide livelihood to the poor Filipinos.

According to ACT-CIS and House Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo, this is one of the government’s programs in response to poverty.

More than 600 individuals from different parts of Cebu province and more than 300 Boholanos were given capital by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Thursday and Friday.

Tulfo and ACT-CIS Cong. Edvic Yap were invited by DSWD Region 7 as their guests in the distribution of livelihood in the region.

According to Cong.

DSWD’s distribution of livelihood is contained in the agency’s Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

Each individual from poor communities received P15,000 in ‘seed money’ based on the DSWD list.

Tulfo said.

Meanwhile, Cong.

Tulfo also thanked DSWD Rex Gatchalian for his continued care for the poor Filipinos across the country.

It was learned that based from the directive of Speaker Romualdez, the Congress allocated hundreds of millions of pesos to the DSWD for the SLP, which is one of the programs of the Marcos administration.
