GenTri PNP cites ‘drug-cleared’ villages

GENERAL TRIAS CITY (GenTri), Cavite – Four of the 33 barangays here in General Trias have been added to the number of “drug-free barangays” of the said city as part of the country’s ongoing fight against drugs.

On Monday, May 29, 2023, the barangays of Santa Clara, San Gabriel, Tapia, and Corregidor passed the evaluation of the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing Deliberation facilitated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

General Trias City Police Office under Police Lt. Colonel Jose Naparato Jr., represented by P/Capt. Ramir Sangria, deputy police chief, together with Mayor Luis “Jon Jon” Ferrer IV and Vice Mayor Jonas Labuguen, awarded the certificate of drug-cleared barangays to Bgy. San Gabriel Chairman Allan Perdaza, Bgy. Sta. Clara Chairman Wally Satsatin, Bgy. Tapia of Ricky Deseo, and Bgy. Corregidor Chairman Danilo Batitis, represented by Bgy. Councilor Ogie Nocon, during a simple ceremony at the GenTri City Hall lobby.

Naparato said they will continue the intensified information drive and anti-drug activities in line with the “Drug-Free Home and Community Mobilization Program.”
