Four family members perish in Las Pinas fire
FOUR family members, including a three-year-old girl, were killed when a fire razed their house yesterday before dawn in Las Pinas City.
The Las Pinas Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) discovered the body of the 38-year-old father near the kitchen while his 35-year-old wife and their two daughters, aged 17 and three, were trapped on the second floor of their 3-storey house located at Bernabe Compound, in Bgy. Pulang Lupa Uno.
According to the brother of the deceased father, they were first to save their 62-year-old mother when the fire of still undetermined origin struck at around 1:41 a.m.
When his brother tried to save his wife and daughters who were sleeping on the third floor, the mezzanine floor collapsed which caused the victim’s death.
No other houses were affected by the fire that was declared out at 2:37 a.m. due to the quick response of firefighters, which has 24/7 Fire Watch Camera, a project initiated by the Las Pinas BFP.
Arson investigators are still determining the cause of the blaze that destroyed more or less P600,000 worth of property.
