
‘Electrocution’ of 13 in Apalit fluvial parade probed
CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police are investigating the electrocution of 13 individuals, including two minors, during Tuesday’s fluvial parade of Apung Iru (St. Peter) in Barangay Sulipan, Apalit, Pampanga.
Initial investigation revealed that a metal portion of one motorized boat with 30 participants in the fluvial parade accidentally touched a high tension wire of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), causing the death of three persons while ten others, including two minors, were injured.
“I have already instructed the concerned chief of police to conduct a thorough investigation on this unfortunate incident in order to eventually identify who is responsible for a proper disposition of the case,” PRO 3 (Police Regional Office 3) Director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay said.
