POLITICAL bickering will be used to block the plan of changing the 1987 Constitution which was created 37 years ago.

Thus, revealed by Senator Joseph Victor Ejercito who admitted that he will support Charter Change (Cha Cha) but the timing must also be right.

According to Ejercito, it is just right and proper to revise the present constitution considering the many changes that we are now facing including the fast phase technology that is not anymore working and helping our economy.

“The world has really changed. But the timing should fit our purpose. Ejercito said in an radio interview.

He also expressed dismay that ChaCha is now being used as a tool for political bickering and some sectors specifically those who are pro-China are so vocal in opposing the possible change of the constitution and is now using this to lambast the present administration instead of helping.

“It is obvious that some forces are using Cha Cha issue for their own political advantage. Makaka antala po ang puro kaguluhan at siraan imbes na magkatulungan,” said Ejercito who expressed disappointment that some Filipino would rather sacrifice the welfare of many people for their own agenda.

Ejercito said the alleged destabilization against President Marcos jr., administration is real citing the fact that some sectors like those who are pro China will even go beyond the line to destroy the present administration which he said was obviously connected to the West Philippine Sea issue.

Ejercito said.

Ejercito further said that the economic provision in the present constitution needs some review as he explained that this must fit the present times and developments.

“So many issues needs review specifically the land ownership. Parang nagkakaisa kami na pwedeng i lease pero to have a complete ownership of our land will really be an issue to tackle,” he said.

Ejercito explained that revising our so-called basic law of the land is a natural reaction, ” because we are all seeking a more suitable Constitution for our country that will focus on economic provisions. We have to admit too that the present law is no longer attuned to the digital times and no longer adaptive to our needs.”

The 1987 Constitution contains some provisions that are not beneficial anymore for the country and its ever-growing number of people, especially in the present times where technology is fast moving and changing from time to time.
