GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija – Mayor Jose “Boyong-Boyong” Dizon ordered the losure of the local water district office here on September 6 to 7 to give way to cleaning and disinfection activities amid the rise of COVID-19 cases in the town for the past few days.

“Upang mapigilan ang pagkalat ng virus na COVID-19 sa tanggapan ng Guimba Water District at posibleng kontaminasyon ng lugar, ipnag-uutos ng ating mayor ang pansamantalang pagpapasara ng nasabing tanggapan simulat September 6 hanggang 7, 2021,” said the municipal government in its advisory posted Monday morning on its Facebook page.

It added that the water district employees who were declared close contacts of a positive COVID-19 carrier and others who were tested antigen-positive are all already under quarantine.

“Hangad ng pamahalaang local na maging ligtas ang bawat pasilidad nang sa gayon ay wala tayong kababayang makokompromiso ang buhay. Mangyari po na ating hintayin ang magiging abiso kung kalian ito muling bubuksan sa publiko,” the advisory added.

As of Sept. 4, the town’s COVID-19 update was recorded at 109 total active cases with eight new confirmed cases, 167 total probable cases of antigen-positives, 741 total recovered cases with 57 total deaths, and 907 total confirmed cases.
