CABANATUAN CITY – A bank manager on Monday sought the help of the local police on the alleged theft involving a co-worker who carted away about P918,894 in cash intended for deposit to the GSIS (Government Service Insurance System) branch here.

City police head Lt. Col. Carl Omar Fiel said the branch manager of City Savings Bank San Jose City, Nueva Ecija branch, complained that his co-employee went “missing” on June 10 after he was given the said amount of money to be deposited to the GSIS Cabanatuan City branch.

The cash was supposed to buy out the loans of their three clients from the said government financial institution.

The bank manager told the police that the suspect could not be contacted, and his whereabouts remained unknown as of Monday, June 13, 2022.

Fiel said the bank manager wanted the incident recorded for reference in filing a “criminal complaint” by the company’s lawyers against the suspect.
