A 35-YEAR-OLD woman was shot dead by two unidentified suspects who allegedly fetched her Friday evening in Navotas City.

Navotas Police Chief P/Col. Dexter Ollaging said the victim from Bgy. NBBS Proper died from bullet wounds in the head and body, while the killers immediately escaped in an unknown direction.

An investigation was conducted by combined elements of Navotas Police Investigation and Detective Management Section (IDMS), Intelligence Section (IS), and Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by P/Lt. Luis Rufo, Jr. showed that at around 11:45 p.m., the victim was seen in the company of two men walking along Kanduli St. Bgy. NBBS, stopped momentarily to buy a cigarette in a nearby sari-sari store.

The three continued to walk and entered an alley, but moments later, a successive burst of gunfire was heard by bystanders.

When residents in the area rushed outside their homes, they saw the victim lying face down in a pool of blood with visible gunshot wounds on her head.

Operatives of Navotas Police Sub-Station-4 led by P/Capt. Melody Manlubatan immediately conducted a follow-up operation, but they failed to identify and arrest the suspects.

Investigators are not discounting the possibility that the killing was drug-related since the victim was allegedly a known “drug personality” in the area.

Elements of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered from the crime scene five pieces of empty shells and three deformed bullets for the unknown caliber of firearms, which will be submitted to the Northern Police District (NPD) Crime Laboratory for ballistic examination.
