‘Drug dealer’ killed, 2 fall in Cabanatuan stings

CABANATUAN CITY – A suspected drug dealer was killed while two others were apprehended during separate buy-busts conducted here on Tuesday morning.

City police head Lt. Col. Barnard Danie Dasugo identified the slain suspect as Chrisford Mendoza, of Bgy. Dimasalang, this city.

The suspect allegedly turned hostile after sensing he had just sold a P500 worth of shabu to a police poseur buyer in Purok Amihan, Bgy. Barrera at 2:30 a.m.

Mendoza allegedly fired at an undercover operative, triggering a gunfight which resulted in his instantaneous death.

Police recovered home-made .45 caliber gun, two plastic sachets containing shabu, five spent shells for a cal. 9mm, and two fired bullets for .45 caliber gun, sling bag, and the suspect’s black Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle.

In the other drug sting, Roi Christian Agsalud, 24, tricycle driver, of Univille Subd., Bgy. Bangad, and Jeffrey Pagaspas, laborer, also of the same area were collared following a buy-bust in Purok 4, Bgy. San Isidro at 12:20 a.m.

Seized from the duo were 11 plastic sachets containing shabu and the P500 marked money used in the drug sting.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 are being readied for filing against the suspects before the city prosecutor’s office here.
