Dalipe: High OCTA poll ratings for Speaker Romualdez affirms effective leadership

HOUSE Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe on Thursday said the consistently high performance ratings of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez are the fruit of his collaborative and unifying leadership focused on uplifting the welfare of all Filipinos.

In lauding Romualdez’s outstanding performance and trust ratings in the latest OCTA Research survey, Dalipe said that the House of Representatives has become the true embodiment of the “House of the People” because of his people-centered and pro-poor legislative advocacies.

“ The latest result of the OCTA poll survey is proof of Speaker Romualdez’s solid and effective leadership. This is the fruit of the collective strength and unwavering commitment of every Member of the House of Representatives,” Dalipe said.

“ His collaborative and unifying leadership allowed the House of the People to ensure the swift passage of people-centered and pro-poor legislation,• Dalipe added.

Dalipe commended Romualdez’s “first-in- last-out” brand of leadership as it has inspired members of Congress and even the Secretariat to work as hard.

“These ratings are a testament to the dedication and teamwork of the hardworking members of the House with Speaker Romualdez serving as an example to all. The House of Representatives has become the true embodiment of the House of the People under Speaker Romualdez,” said Dalipe.

Dalipe also highlights Speaker Romualdez’s insightful appreciation of the invaluable role of surveys in governance as this serves as a guide in crafting government policies that reflect the people’s needs and sentiments.

Dalipe said under the Romualdez speakership, the House of Representatives has achieved unprecedented success in passing very important legislation.

“Speaker Romualdez’s commitment to aligning legislative work with the needs and aspirations of the Filipinos is a testament to his dedication to their welfare, “ Dalipe said.

In the survey conducted by OCTA between September 30 and October 4, Speaker Romualdez’s trust ratings saw a remarkable increase, rising from 38% to 60% between 2022 and 2023, with a 22-point increase in the same period. Additionally, from July to October 2023, his trust ratings went from 54% to 60%, marking a 6-point rise in the quarter.

In the same survey, the Speaker’s performance satisfaction rating experienced significant growth, climbing from 44% to 61% between 2020-2022 and 2023, and from 55% to 61% from July to October 2023, reflecting a substantial 17-point increase in the same period and a 6-point gain in the quarter.
