Cup of Joe, the current darlings of the Pinoy pop music scene, rode the waves of success in 2023 as they marked it as another breakout year for the group that includes vocalists Gian Bernardino and Raphaell Ridao, keyboardist Xen Gareza, lead guitarist Gab Fernandez, bassist Sevii Severino and guitarist CJ Fernandez.

These talented 20-something musicians, who have reached new heights with their infectious songs led by their chart-topping single Tingin featuring the soulful vocals of Janine, has become their biggest hit to date.

Released early in the year, Tingin has resonated with a broad spectrum of listeners, captivating not only Gen Zs but also crossing over to millennials.

The song’s widespread appeal catapulted Cup of Joe to the forefront of the Pinoy pop scene, establishing them as the most listened-to band of 2023 and at one point, surpassing the reigning musical group in the country.

The strength of Cup of Joe’s success isn’t limited to a single track as the band has amassed a remarkable catalog of singles that have grown exponentially in streams alongside Tingin.

Previous releases such as Estranghero, Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko and Patutunguhan have seen significant boosts in listens solidifying Cup of Joe’s position as the new go-to band for music enthusiasts as independent outfit Chart Data Ph attesting to their current dominance of the local music landscape.

As of the latest update, the group boasts over four million monthly listeners on Spotify. Their top-performing singles include Estranghero with over 41 million streams, Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Pipiliin Ko with 26 million, Mananatili with 12 million listens, Cinderella with 13 million,

Bukod Tangi with 10 million, Patutunguhan with nine million and Tataya with seven million streams.

As 2023 wrapped up, Cup of Joe’s yule-themed song Alas Dose, released in 2019, delighted fans during their recent sold-out performances in school campuses across the nation.

This early, Cup of Joe is setting the stage with its music label and management, Viva Records, for 2024. The band is gearing up for some major announcements that are sure to excite their fan base starting off with a major solo concert at New Frontier Theater in February.
