Cops nab multiple murder suspect in Central Visayas
PHILIPPINE National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) agents arrested a multiple murder suspect in Central Visayas, PNP-CIDG director Major General Romeo M. Caramat Jr. said.
Regel Segara Hayag, alias Regal Omalon or Eti Hayag, was arrested in Barangay Mayacabac, Dauis, Bohol at around 1:30 p.m. last Sept. 11, the official said.
Maj. Gen. Caramat said that the suspect is facing three counts of murder since 2021.
Judge Marc Joseph Quirante of the Mandaue City Regional Trial Court Branch 88 issued the arrest warrant against the suspect while Judge Mercedita Dadole-Ygnacio of the Mandaue City RTC Branch 28 issued another warrant for his arrest on February 24, 2022.
Judge Ferdie Esperidion Riveral of the Mandaue City RTC Branch 87 ordered the arrest of the suspect on April 22, 2022.
According to Caramat, the suspect hid in different parts of Bohol and Mandaue City after learning that non-bailable warrants of arrest have been issued against him.
The suspect was taken to the CIDG Bohol lock-up facility for standard booking procedure prior to his presentation to court.
