‘Citizen’ BBM helps Batangas
HE is no longer a senator. He did not make it to the second highest post of the land, but former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. did not stop serving the public, particularly those who are in crisis.
On July 12, Marcos or BBM personally went to several towns in Batangas without fanfare since his purpose was to give assistance to the residents directly affected by the relentless movement of Taal Volcano.
Volcanic activities of Taal started on July 1.
Marcos personally witnessed the condition of affected residents in the towns of Talisay, Laurel and Agoncillo, including those who have been staying in evacuation centers.
BBM extended his assistance to the affected residents and evacuees by leading the donation of some 3,000 sacks of rice, 500 cartoons of surgical masks, 3,000 pairs of slippers, 4,000 cartoons of vitamins and 500 bottles of coconut water to the residents.
The former lawmaker successfully made the distribution of the goods in coordination with the officials and frontliners of Talisay, Laurel and Agoncillo towns together with several groups from the private sector and Governor DoDo Mandanas office, through PPOSD head, Atty. Genaro Cabral.
BBM stressed that his assistance to the public will not end in Batangas as he launched “#BatangasMagiting, #HandaIngatMagiting and #HugasIwasMask”.
