Chinese nat’l died; 2 others nabbed in Angeles drug stings

A SUSPECTED Chinese drug trafficker died while another Chinese national and a Filipino were arrested in separate buy-busts over the weekend in Angeles City, Pampanga and resulting in the seizure of more than P500 million worth of shabu.

Joint Operatives of the PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) RO-NCR Manila District Office, PDEA RO III RSET 1, and Angeles City Police conducted the first drug operation in a townhouse in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City, Pampanga.

Authorities said the Chinese national with the alias “Ching,” 51, a resident of Bgy. Pampang, Angeles City, Pampanga, tried to resist arrest leading to his heart attack.

The suspect was rushed to a hospital but later died.

Operatives recovered some 85 kilograms of shabu worth P578 million and the boodle money and invited a 30-year-old Filipino from San Juan, Batangas, for interrogation.

The second operation was launched on Poinsettia Ave., Bgy. Pampang, Angeles City, by members of the PDEA RO-NCR Eastern District Office, PDEA Region 3 Pampanga Provincial Office together with City Intelligence Unit, Angeles City Police Office.

They arrested another Chinese national, 49, of Tondo, Manila, and a Filipino, 23, of Lucena, Quezon Province.

Seized were 29 kilos of shabu, eight bundles of boodle money, three cellphones, identification cards, and the SUV (sport utility vehicle) being used by the suspects.

All the suspects will be charged with violation of RA (Republic Act) 91659.
