
Cavite PNP launches SAFE-NLE 2022, ‘Kasimbayan’
IMUS CITY, Cavite – The Cavite Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) took the lead in the simultaneous provincial level launching of SAFE National and Local Elections 2022 with the theme “Kasimbayan: Kawani, Simbahan at Pamayanan”, Friday, February 25, 2022 held at Camp General Pantaleon Alvarez in Bgy. Poblacion 1-B here.
The program began with a unity walk from the historic Imus Plaza to Cuartel led by Police Colonel Arnold Abad, Provincial Director, Cavite Provincial Police Office (CPPO) together with AFP, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), PPRCV, Commission on Eelections (Comelec), religious groups, and candidates from the provincial level.
A program showcased the lighting of SAFE candles and pinning of SAFE 2022 pins by officials of PNP, AFP, PCG, PPRCV, and Comelec after Col. Abad gives the program message.
Kasimbayanan, which stands for “Kapulungan ng inyong Pulis, ng inyong Sundalo, ng inyong Bantay Dagat, ng ating COMELEC, at lahat ng Lingkod Bayan kasama ang Simbahan at Pamayanan,” is a campaign in the collaborative pursuit of a reformed electoral process free from violence and corruption,” according to Col. Abad.
Bishop Bernie Fontabla, Cavite Provincial Advisory Council; Rev. Fr Herold Arenal of Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV)-Cavite and Imam Uytad Musa Sandigan, Imus Muslim community elder offered a prayer for safe and peaceful elections.
The attendees also signed the “Covenant of Peace,” a manifesto that signifies and fosters community solidarity towards the goal of restoring trust and credibility in the electoral process and helping ensure honest, orderly, and peaceful elections.
Col. Abad together with Lt. Junior Grade Napoleon Veneracion II, commander of PCG-Cavite; Lt. Colonel Rommel Agpada, Philippine Army, commanding officer – Task Force Ugnayan; Atty. Patrick Enaje, Cavite Provincial Election supervisor released white doves as a sign of Secure, Accurate, Free and Fair National and Local Election (SAFE-NLE) 2022.
Provincial candidate Cavite 8th District reelectionist Board member Rainier Ambion also joined the covenant signing in support of the multi-sectoral campaign to ensure peaceful, safe, and free elections on May 9, 2022.
At the same time, 7 cities and 16 towns of the province are conducting the said program led by local police chiefs, PCG, AFP, Comelec, PPCRV, religious groups, and local candidates.
In Rosario town, local election officer Joan Neri, Police chief Lt. Col. Ruther Saquilayan, and candidates of the Teams Voltaire Ricafrente and Luna-Badidles tandem joined the SAFE-NLE 2022 program.
