Cavite outing ends in disaster
TERNATE, Cavite — Six people were injured when their private jeepney that was on its way to a beach lost its brakes and turned turtle while traversing a bumpy road in Ternate-Nasugbu Road, Brgy Sapang 1 here, on Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023.
The six vicitms were identified as Carl Diaz, Rizza Maro Chacon, Rheinleen Casil, Ronaldo Casil, Graciala Dane Casil, and Efren Suarez, all residents of Barangay CAA/BF International, Las Piñas City.
According to a report from Police Major Xelacor Marie Garcia, officer-in-charge of the Ternate Police, the Isuzu utility vehicle Jitney (DTW 891) driven by Suarez was traveling to Patungan, Maragondon when the accident occurred.
When the jeepney reached a descending and winding road, the driver lost its brakes and swerved the steering wheel to the right so that it won’t fall into a cliff.
