TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — The national government and the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) have Cavite and Rizal on Alert Level 3 on January 4, 2022, after Covid-19 cases surged in the two Region 4A provinces and Bulacan.

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, acting spokesperson, announced the alert level escalations due to a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases in the particular localities.

COVID-19 cases in Cavite increased from 112 active last December 24, 2021 to 645 on January 3, 2022. Twenty of the new 109 cases are new as of January 3.

Dr. Edgardo Figueroa, hospital director of Ospital ng Imus, said that for the past two weeks, ONI had zero admission. “After the New Year revelry, unti unti na po may mga admission of COVID-19 cases,” he added.

“Gatherings during the holiday season. Nakikita naman natin na napakadaming tao na lumalabas na lahat children and adults included. Sometimes wala pang face masks ang mga bata,” said Dr. Liza Capupus of Tagaytay CHO.

Tagaytay has 24 recorded active cases as of January 4, 2022.
