Awang-awa si Carlana Abellana sa isang Aspin (Asong Pinoy) na nasagasaan sa NLEX kaya dali-dali niya itong binaba at tinulungan.

Sa kanyang mahabang Instagram post ay idinetalye ng aktres ang nangyari kung saan ay nasaksihan niya mismo ang pagkaka-hit and run sa aso na ikinadurog ng kanyang puso.

“On my way home from taping last night, we witnessed an aspin get run over along NLEX. Yes, in the middle of NLEX. The crying of the aspin broke my heart. I had to beg Kuya Bong (my Driver) to stop right away. I couldn’t just leave him/her there — alive or not,” simula ng kwento ni Carla, na as we all know ay isang pet lover.

“And as soon as we managed to park safely by the side, i grabbed my blanket and just ran for my life on the side of the road, looking for the hit and run victim. We couldn’t find him/her and i was starting to panic,” patuloy niya.

Hindi raw sila tumigil hanggang hindi nila nakikita ang aso and finally ay nakita ng kanyang personal assistant sa isang bahagi ng damuhan na hindi na gumagalaw pero buhay pa.

“I asked Kuya Bong to get me a flashlight and we started focusing on the shrubby area by the side of the road. The aspin was still nowhere in sight.

“Thankfully, a few moments later, Anna (my Personal Assistant) found him laying on the shrubs, motionless. He was skin and bones, appeared to be very young and a bit cold to the touch. But he was still blinking. That’s when i knew we had to move quickly to bring him to the nearest 24/7 Vet Hospital,” pagbabahagi ni Carla.

Kaagad nilang tinulungan ang Aspin at nag-pray siya ng rosary.

“We layed him on the floor of my van, covered in my blanket, and i sat on the floor with him to make sure he stayed awake and warm. I grabbed my rosary, laid it on top of his head and said a quick prayer.

“Along the way i just kept talking to him and telling him to fight. More like pleading. His blinking was slowing down and he still wasn’t moving at all,” kwento ni Carla.

Habang nasa daan nga ay kinakausap pa raw niya ang aso at pinangakuang papakainin ng steak paggaling.

“I just kept rubbing his head and ears, assuring him that if he keeps fighting he’ll be eating so much chimken, rice and even steak with us. I also told him he was such a brave boy because he managed to drag himself off the road,” aniya.

Luckily ay nakarating naman sila sa veterinary hospital na kaagad na ginamot ang aso.

“When we arrived at the 24/7 Vet Hospital, i made sure he got attended to immediately. He weighed only a little over 7kg, had such a gentle demeanor and a cute face. I could see his wounds at that point,” she narrated.

Laking tuwa ni Carla nang sabihin sa kanya ng doktor na wala namang napinsala sa aso.

“God gave us another miracle last night when the Vet came out and said, “Ang lakas niya! No broken bones”. His xray results showed no fracture, no broken bones, no internal damage to any of his organs. What a miracle indeed,” sey ng aktres.

Sa ngayon ay inampon ni Carla ang Aspin. “I couldn’t think of a name for him so i decided to just name him what i call all dogs — PUPPY.”

Nanawagan at nagmakaawa rin ang aktres sa mga motorista na mag-preno naman kapag nakakita ng hayop sa kalye.

“Everyone, please please break for animals on the road. I am begging you. And if you could save a life, please do,” pakiusap ni Carla.
