Caraga cops arrest 2 rape suspects
MEMBERS of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-13 arrested two rape suspects in Caraga, PRO-13 director Brigadier General Kirby James B. Kraft said on Sunday.
The suspects were identified as Leonilo Butron, 21; and Dwaney Gemao, 19.
Bacuag municipal police members arrested Butron, of Barangay Cambuayon, Bacuag, Surigao del Norte based on a warrant of arrest issued by the Surigao City Regional Trial Court Branch 30.
Butron was accused of sexually abusing his 30-year-old friend inside the latter’s house on September 20, 2022.
Members of the Surigao del Norte Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, the Surigao del Norte Provincial Intelligence Unit and the Surigao City Police Station arrested Gemao in Bgy. Sabang in Surigao City.
The Surigao City RTC Branch 30 recommended no bail for the suspect.
“Our manhunt operations are underway to serve the warrants of arrest against fugitives. We ask for the cooperation of the public in bringing these most wanted individuals to the bars of justice by providing us with relevant and accurate information on their whereabouts,” Kraft said.
