OPERATIVES of the Northern Police District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) arrested a 40-year-old woman and seized shabu worth more than P.1 million in a buy-bust operation Friday evening in Caloocan City.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo lauded the elements of DDEU, led by P/Lt. Col. Renato Castillo, for the arrest of a “high-value target” (HVT) with the alias “Josephine,” resident of Barangay 188, Tala, in a drug sting operation conducted at around 9:00 p.m. along Riverside, Phase 12, Bgy. 188.

Apart from the plastic sachet of shabu which was the subject of a buy-bust operation, authorities seized a knot-tied transparent plastic bag containing more or less 25 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P170,000,00 and the marked money.

Castillo said complaints for violation of Section 5 (Sale) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of RA (Republic Act) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), will be charged against the suspect while recovered pieces of evidence were turned over to NPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis.

For his part, Estomo said with the launching of S.A.F.E. (Seen, Appreciated and Felt by the people through Extraordinary actions) NCRPO, the public will be able to see, hear and feel more the intensified and strengthened police operations against drug pushers who are mostly involved in committing crimes within the National Capital Region (NCR).
