CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – An exploration and surveying the condition of the diving spots in Calapan proved to be “promising” as they logged eight “potential” diving spots rich in marine life.

With the collaboration of various diving clubs from Batangas City, Puerto Galera, and Blue Alliance Philippines, potential diving sites were identified in the waters covered by the said city.

They explored the ocean’s depths in part of the Harka Piloto Marine Protected Area and its neighbors and their documentation yielded positive results, and saw the city’s vibrant life and unique natural resources.

Calapan City Mayor Malou Flores-Morillo said due to the proper management of the Fisheries Management Office in collaboration with the Calapan City Tourism Culture and Arts – the documentation was successfully carried out on eight potential diving sites in the city of Calapan.

Because of our desire and strict implementation in the protection of marine biodiversity to be associated with the growth of tourism and the livelihood of the Calapeños — in the coming years, the Calapan local government vowed to make them fully eco-tourism sites.
