THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) held a strategic planning workshop from April 12 to 13, 2023, at Abagatan Ti Manila in Alfonso, Cavite. It aims to discuss and review the CAAP’s strategic plans to ensure that it aligns with the national development goals of the transportation department.

The event provided a platform for participants to identify possible issue areas in alignment and to discuss strategies to increase air connectivity between different regions in the country.

The workshop helped the participants better understand how to implement the strategic plan and work collaboratively to achieve the objectives set forth by CAAP and DOTr.

During the workshop, participants identified key focus areas, including enhancing safety and security measures, improving airport infrastructure, and enhancing air traffic management.

“As an attached agency of the DOTr, CAAP is committed to following through with the strategic plans formulated last December 2022, and this workshop represents a significant step towards achieving our goals. By collaborating with each other, we can address the strategic issues we previously identified and create plans that will be implemented in the short to medium term,” CAAP Director General Tamayo said in his opening remarks.

The CAAP and DOTr said they are committed to “continuing their partnership to improve the aviation industry in the Philippines” and provide the public with safe and reliable air transportation.
