Bulacan raid yields 6 alleged gunrunners, cache of guns

AN “Oplan Paglalansag” on Monday was launched at a hut in Sitio Kalayakan, Bgy. Kalawakan, Doña Remedios Trinidad (DRT), Bulacan resulting in the arrest of six suspected gunrunners and the confiscation of a cache of guns and bullets.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, the Bulacan police identified the suspects as alias “Gario,” 38, a security guard and a native of South Cotabato; alias “Salor,” 31, also a security guard and a native of Antipolo, Rizal; alias “Gapo,” 24, a native of Eastern Samar; alias “Macha,” 28, a native of Bago City, Negros Occidental; alias “Vinta,” 39, a native of South Cotabato; and alias “Guarda,” 26, native of Alaminos, Pangasinan, all residents of Sitio Kalayakan, Bgy. Kalawakan, Doña Remedios Trinidad (DRT), Bulacan.

The raiding team composed of the CIDG Bulacan PFU, CIDG RFU 3, 24SAC-2SAB PNP SAF, 301st MC RFMB3 and DRT police implemented a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunitions Regulation Act that led to the confiscation of several guns and ammunition, including two 12 gauge shotguns, two magazines for a shotgun, five bullets for a 12 gauge shotgun, a loaded cal. .45 pistol loaded, one magazine assembly for a cal .45 gun, seven bullets for a cal. .45 gun, a .9mm pistol, 11 .9mm bullets, seven bullets for .5.56 gun, a holster, and a sling bag.

All arrested suspects are now under the custody of the DRT police.
