LAWYER Vic Rodriguez, chief of staff and spokesperson of presidential frontrunner Bongbong Marcos on Monday thanked supporters for making Marcos still the top choice for president as he confirmed their camp’s “non-participation in the Comelec-sanctioned debate on March 19.

Rodriguez said in a statement issued on Sunday:

“I confirm our non-participation in the Comelec sanctioned debate this coming Saturday, March 19, 2022.

“Presidential frontrunner Bongbong Marcos’ words are his bond, thus we shall honor our commitment to our supporters to be with them on the field on this day.

“We shall continue with our preferred mode of direct communication with the people and engage them in a more personal face to face interaction that discusses real issues that affect them today, tomorrow and in the days to come as this election is all about our collective future.

As for the Pulse Asia survey showing BBM maintains lead, Rodriguez said: “We again thank the Filipino people for their unwavering trust in the leadership capabilities and competence of presidential frontrunner Bongbong Marcos to lead us through this most challenging period of our history.”

“The result of the Pulse Asia survey has again debunked the fake narrative being forced by some small segment of our society on the current sentiments and vote preference of us, Filipinos.

“While some of them may claim that they are winning in ‘Twitter’ and ‘Google’ searches, frontrunner Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. is winning the battle with the Filipino people.”
