‘Baby’ bus falls from Ternate bridge, 31 hurt

TERNATE, Cavite – A “baby” bus plunged off the bridge in Governor’s Drive, Bgy. Sapang here past 5 p.m., February 27, 2022.

According to the local police, the bus driver allegedly lost control and the minibus fell off the bridge.

Police identified one passenger Karen Faith Aloy 29, and 30 others including the driver – all residents of South Morning View Subd., Timalan Balsahan, Naic, Cavite.

They were rescued by responding local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) and the victims sustained bruises and were declared safe.

According to the report, the said vehicle came from a beach outing in Ternate driven by Oscar Mamatan Jr., 28, bus driver, and a resident of Pulo 1, San Rafael, Noveleta, Cavite.

The said baby bus was heading towards Manila direction and upon reaching the downhill portion of the road, the vehicle lost its brake and accidentally fell off the bridge.

As a result, all passengers including the driver sustained injuries at the different parts of their bodies and were rushed to San Lorenzo Hospital in Naic, and Cavite Municipal Hospital at Maragondon, Cavite for treatment.
