Arrested female drug pusher yields P2.8M shabu in Quezon

LUCENA CITY— Police on Sunday seized some P2.8 million worth of shabu following the arrest of a suspected bigtime female drug pusher at University Village, Brgy. Ibabang Dupay, this city.

Quezon police director Col. Ledon Monte identified the nabbed suspect as Julieta Moreno Maruhom, 63, widow, native of Agdangan, Quezon and resident of said village.

Monte said the suspect is among those in their list of High Value Individuals on drug personalities.

He said Maruhom was caught red- handed with shabu during a drug bust carried out by joint elements of Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) under Capt. Jojo Pangilinan, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) and Lucena City Police Station under Lt. Col. Ruben Ballera.

Pangilinan said Maruhom was arrested while handing one heat- sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu in exchange to P10,000 buy- bust money.

He said they seized a total of 139 grams of shabu with a street value of P2,835,600.00, a brown sling bag, a digital weighing scale, a cellular phone ,P1,600 personal money of the suspect and the used marked P10,000 cash.

All the seized pieces of evidence were brought to PNP Provincial Crime Laboratory Office in Lucena City for examination.

Pangilinan said to the arrest, the suspect has been under their tight watch.

Only last July 8, same police operatives on seized some P3.6 Million worth of shabu following resulting to the arrest of a young drug suspect at Brgy. Sta. Catalina in Pagbilao, Quezon.

The suspect, Samuel Marino, 23, jobless and resident of said place yielded 180 grams of shabu.
