
Armed drug dealer killed, P28.6-M shabu seized in Parañaque sting
AN armed drug trafficker was killed while four agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency were wounded in a gunbattle that marred the conduct of a buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of some 4.2 kilograms of shabu worth P28.6 million, late Wednesday afternoon in Parañaque City.
The members of the PDEA National Capital Region Office and the Parañaque City Police Station also arrested three other suspects during the anti-drug operation in Barangay San Antonio conducted at around 5 p.m.
The PDEA headed by Director General Isagani R. Nerez said that the slain suspect identified only as alias ‘Sady,’32, opened fire at the undercover officers after sensing he was dealing with lawmen.
The four wounded PDEA agents were taken to a local hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.
Arrested during the operation were three accomplices of the slain suspect identified through their aliases ‘Lala,’26; ‘Allan,’34; and ‘Binny,’23.
Recovered during the sting were four plastic bags containing a total of 4.2 kilos of shabu worth P28,560,000; a firearm; the buy-bust money topped by a marked bill, the suspects’ identification cards, several drug paraphernalia and various documents.
The PDEA also impounded a vehicle used by the suspects to transport the drugs.
The arrested suspects will be facing criminal charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
