Arcillas family running in 2022 polls
THE Arcillas family formally included their names in the 2022 elections.
Siblings Sta. Rosa City, Laguna incumbent Mayor Arlene Arcillas and her brother former vice mayor Arnold Arcillas, have filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) for the position of mayor and vice mayor respectively for the upcoming 2022 elections.
Meanwhile, Arlene Arcillas’ daughter Monica Arcillas Nazareno also filed her Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) as ALONA Party-list second nominee representative.
Arnold Arcillas served as vice mayor in 2016-2019 while Arlene Arcillas served three terms as mayor from 2007 to 2016. She then served as the representative of the 1st District of Laguna in 2016-2019 before again winning the mayoralty race in 2019.
The brother-sister tandem, children of former mayor Leon Arcillas, said the late Arcillas patriarch serves as an inspiration for them in their pursuit of public service.
“The biggest inspiration for us siblings is to continue the legacy left by our father, former mayor Arcillas,” Arnold Arcillas said.
