Another suspect in hazing death of Adamson student falls

ANOTHER suspect in the death due to hazing of Adamson University student John Matthew Salilig in February this year was arrested on Thursday in Biñan City, Laguna.

Nabbed was Lester John Sus alias “Biggie.”

The suspect was arrested during the service of a warrant of arrest in his residence in Bgy. San Francisco in Biñan City.

Sus is among the 18 members of the Tau Gamma fraternity charged with violation of the Anti-Hazing Act in connection with the death of Salilig, a chemical engineering student.

Salilig, who attended the initiation rites of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity on February 18, 2023 in Biñan City, Laguna. went missing for 10 days before his body was found buried in a shallow grave in Imus City, Cavite.

Police said 10 suspects in the case are now in the custody of the police.

CIDG-Regional Field Unit 4A chief Col. Marlon Santos said also arrested last Thursday were Justin Ar-Jay Ramos Fontanilla, 20, of Bgy. Alapan II, Imus, and Armando Bocalan Hernandez Jr., 21, of Bgy. Amaya 6, Tanza, both in Cavite.

The arrest warrants were issued by Judge Armin Noel Villamonte of the Biñan City Regional Trial Court Branch 155 on July 6, 2023.
