ABC prexy in Laguna nabbed for high-powered firearms
THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Laguna arrested an incumbent Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) president of Bay, Laguna after yielding several high-powered firearms during the implementation of a search warrant by the authorities for violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591 in Bgy. Masaya, Bay, Laguna on Monday morning.
CIDG agents searched the suspect’s house at about 7:00 a.m., March 20, 2023 based on the search warrant issued by Executive Judge Agripino R. Bravo of Regional Trial Court (RTC), Lucena City for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Laguna CIDG PFU (Provincial Field Unit) seized one caliber 5.56 mm (M16) rifle Colt with scope suppressor; one caliber 9mm machine pistol (Federal); one unit of caliber pistol (Colt M1911); 85 rounds of live ammunition for caliber 5.56; 15 rounds of live ammunition for caliber 45; 20 rounds of live ammunition for caliber 9mm; magazines for caliber 5.56; two magazines for caliber 45; and a magazine for caliber 9mm.
The search operation was witnessed by the suspect’s wife, a barangay councilor, and the head of the barangay tanod.
The suspect and evidence were brought to CIDG Laguna PFU Office for documentation and proper disposition.
