2 out 95 Araneta bus station drivers test positive for shabu
TWO out of 95 bus drivers tested positive for shabu during a random drug test at the Araneta bus station in Quezon City, said a ranking official of the Land Transportation Office.
Transportation Assistant Secretary and LTO Chief Atty. Teofilo Guadiz III, who led the operation in close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the driver’s license of the two drivers were confiscated and turned over to the LTO-Intelligence and Investigation Division in Central Office for further investigation.
Guadiz said they intensified the operation against drivers using illegal drugs (DUI) under the program “Oplan Ligtas Kalsada Kontra Droga”.
The LTO under the leadership of Guadiz earlier warned that driving under the influence of liquor, illegal substances, and illegal drugs is a serious offense that is penalized with imprisonment.
