Bgy. kagawad slain in Rosario
POLICE operatives continue to hunt the two unidentified suspects who shot dead a barangay kagawad in Purok 1, Bgy. Salao, Rosario, Batangas, Wednesday morning.
Rosario Municipal Police Station top cop P/Lt. Col. Rheden M. Manalo said the victim was identified as 50-year-old Bgy. Salao village councilor Ismael Rosales, a resident of Purok 3.
A telephone call at 8:20 a.m. on Sept. 28 was received by the police personnel from a resident of the village who reported the incident.
Duty investigators, together with police patrol members, proceeded to the reported location to verify the report.
Initial investigation showed that at about 7:00 a.m. (Sept. 28), the victim, was having a conversation with someone in front of a sari-sari store when he was shot dead by the suspects on board a black Honda SYM motorcycle.
While fleeing, the suspects’ motorcycle malfunctioned and overturned, causing them to forcibly board a passing tricycle.
Police recovered four fired cartridge casings for a cal .45 pistol, a slug and the abandoned motorcycle at the crime scene.
