PRO 5, PDEA collar top drug suspect for P3.5M shabu

COMBINED agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO 5) last Friday arrested a top drug target in the Bicol region after he sold nearly P3.5 million worth of shabu to an undercover officer in Naga City, a report to Philippine National Police Officer-in-Charge (PNP-OIC) Lieutenant General Vicente D. Danao Jr. said yesterday.

The suspect is considered a “high-value target” (HVT) and is a resident of Bgy. Bagumbayan Norte in Naga City was arrested after he handed the drugs to a poseur and received the buy-bust money along Jacob Street in Zone 5 of the same barangay past 9:00 p.m. Friday, said PRO 5 Director Brig. Gen. Mario A. Reyes.

Recovered were three plastic sachets of shabu weighing 506 grams valued at P3,440,800, the buy-bust money, and a mobile phone he used to contact the undercover operative, the Bicol Police director said.

The suspect is now facing non-bailable charges for selling and possessing prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
