
SPD policemen arrest homicide suspect; 85 more nabbed
A CONVICTED killer in Metro Manila was among the 86 wanted persons in Metro Manila arrested last Friday by agents of the Southern Police District (SPD), according to a report last Sunday.
Identified as alias Padre, the 38-year-old man was arrested for homicide on the strength of a warrant of arrest by Judge Mariam Bien of the Taguig city Regional Trial Court Branch 158, said SPD director, Brigadier Gen. Leon Victor Z. Rosete.
The official said that members of the Taguig City Police Sub-Station 6 under Colonel Christopher F. Olazo arrested the suspect in Central Signal Village 12:20 a.m. Friday.
According to Brig. Gen. Rosete, their 26th Warrant Day last Friday resulted in the arrest of 86 wanted individuals.
Eight of the crime suspects were arrested by the Taguig police, 3 each by the Makati, Las Piñas and Parañaque police, 2 by the Muntinlupa police and 1 by the Pasay police.
The SPD District Traffic Unit/District Anti-Carnapping Unit and the District Mobile Force Battalion also accounted for 2 suspects.
Brig. Gen. Rosete said that apart from the convicted homicide suspect, the others arrested last Friday were alias Adrian, 52, for reckless imprudence resulting in serious physical injuries in Noveleta, Cavite, alias Marissa, the subject of a warrant of arrest for theft; one alias Julius the subject of a 2013 warrant for disobedience to a lawful order from an agent of a person in authority; and one alias Jaymark, the subject of a warrant of arrest for a theft case in Pasay City since 2018.
