Caloocan opens jab sites for Muslim brothers

THE City Government of Caloocan opened its two vaccination sites in North and South of the city on Tuesday to accommodate Muslim brothers who wanted to get their first dose of Sinopharm vaccine which is considered “holy and halal” vaccine.

Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan said the Caloocan Central Elementary School, south of the city, and Glorietta Tala in the north will apply the first come, first served basis for Muslim brothers starting at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.

The two vaccination hubs will also entertain walk-in clients for all priority groups who also wanted to get their first jab of COVID-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, other vaccination sites in North and South of Caloocan, will continue to vaccinate those who are in categories A1 to A5 priority groups.

The City Health Department reminded those who wanted to receive their first jab of the vaccine to bring their identification card and other requirements based on their priority group where they belong.

City health officials also reported that as of August 28, 2021, a total of 1,187,891 city residents were already vaccinated. These includes 769,237 individuals who got their first jab and 418,654 fully vaccinated.
