Discount or promotion of establishments, an addition to senior and PWD discount – Tulfo
HOUSE Bill 10312, passed on its second reading, will provide an additional discounts to senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs), aside from the 20 percent and VAT exemption they already receive.
According to ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo, “Bukod sa nasabing discount at VAT exemption, makukuha pa rin nila ang anumang discount o promotional offer ng establisimyento”.
“Halimbawa may 20 percent sale o promo ang tindahan o hotel o restaurant, dagdag pa ito sa diskwento nila at VAT exemption bilang mga senior at PWD”, Tulfo clarified.
The Deputy House Majority leader said, “Hindi naman malulugi ang mga establisimyento dito dahil maari nilang gamitin ang mga discount na ito bilang deductible sa buwis na babayaran nila”.
It was learned that House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez wanted a speedy approval of the said bill.
“Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez ang mga senior at PWD ang pinakakawawa na sektor na dapat tulungan”, Tulfo said.
Cong. Tulfo hopes that HB 10312 will be passed by the Congress before the end of the year for the benefit the seniors and PWDs.
