Motorcycle rider dies in collision in Ilocos Sur
SANTIAGO, Ilocos Sur–A motorcycle rider died Thursday night after a head on collision with a four-wheel vehicle in Brgy. Caburao of this municipality.
Police identified the victim as Albert Costales y Mariano, 42, of Brgy. Bagani Ubbog, Candon City, Ilocos Sur
According to police, a Pro Florida vehilce (PN BVP 946) driven by Joefrey Tabora y Pacris, 39, of Brgy. Callungan, Sanchez Mira, Cagayan was traversing the highway towards north direction while the victim was traversing towards the south.
Moments later, the motorcycle rider suddenly swerved and encroached the opposite lane, causing a head-on collision.
The motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries in different parts of his body and was brought to the Candon City General Hospital for medical treatment.
However, attending physician Dr. Harold Mariaga declared the rider dead on arrival.
The driver of the four-wheel vehicle was unhurt.
