
P2M shabu seized from 2 jobless women in Taguig
THE Northern Police District (NPD) scored another successful campaign against illegal drugs after seizing more than P2 million worth of shabu from two jobless women in a drug sting operation Wednesday evening in Taguig City.
NPD Director P/BGen. Jose Hidalgo, Jr. said that with intensive monitoring and intelligence driven operation, operatives of the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) led by P/Maj. Amor Cerillo, were able to arrest Halima Macalunas, 48 and Ponggo Pagayao, 20 at their residence in Cagayan De Oro St., Brgy, Maharlika, Taguig City in a buy-bust operation in coordination with city police chief P/Col. Celso Rodriguez.
The suspect was apprehended at around 7 p.m. by authorities while in the act of receiving P65,000.00 marked money, consisting of one P1,000 genuine bill and 64 pieces of boodle money in exchange for a pack of shabu.
During searched, policemen, in the presence of barangay officials in the area, were able to seize a total of 300 grams of shabu with an estimated street value worth Php 2,040,000 and a cellular phone allegedly being utilized by suspects in their illegal drug transactions.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director P/MGen. Vicente Danao, Jr. commended the NPD-DDEU saying the successful operation is part of the PNP’s intensified crackdown on drug dealing in metropolis.
