SAN JOSE CITY – Three 19-year-old boys and seven minors were arrested for robbing a grocery store and carting away three cases each of San Miguel beer and Yakult drinks worth P4,800 on Monday here.

City police head Lt. Col. Criselda Y. De Guzman said the suspects were apprehended shortly after victim Jessica Batallones, 40, single, of Zone 5A, Paseo Rueda St., Bgy. Sibut sought police assistance.

Batallones learned that her grocery store had been robbed at around 9 a.m. on Monday.

Citing CCTV footages taken from her store logged at 1:18 a.m., Battalones told police that a group of men aboard two tricycles and two motorbikes gained entry through the fence and carted away three cases of beer (P3,000) and Yakult drinks (P1,800) from her store.

De Guzman said a follow-up investigation resulted in the identification of the owner of the tricycle as Juvelyn Del Rosario, of Zone 2, Bgy. Malasin and the arrest of the three suspects and seven CICLs or child in-conflict with the law-suspects.

The operation also led to the recovery of 60 beer bottles.

The nabbed 19-year-olds were identified as John Rico, Arvin Delos Reyes, and Lhuz Divina, all of Bgy. Malasin.

Also arrested were two-15-year-olds, two-17-year-olds, two-16-year-olds and a 14-year-old.

De Guzman said the arrested suspects are now under police custody.
