7 held in Ecija anti- illegal gambling stings

SAN JOSE CITY — Seven personalities, including a bank manager were nabbed in separate anti-illegal gambling operations in Nueva Ecija over the weekend.

In this city, Police head Lt. Col. Criselda Y. De Guzman said they arrested three men while playing an illegal billiards game at Rufina Homes 2, Bgy. Malasin at 4:30 p.m.

Nabbed were bank manager Junelle Verde, 32, single, of Bgy. Magsaysay Sur, Cabanatuan City, James Nixon Plazo, 18, operator, manager, of Zone 6, Bgy. San Pascual, and Norman Alsisto, , 35, spotter, of Zone 2, Bgy. Sinipit-Bubon, both of this city.

Police seized some P21,500 in bet money, two cue cases, four cue sticks and billiard balls and table.

In the other operation in the Science City of Muňoz, police arrested four men while playing “pusoy-bestway” during a sting conducted in Bgy. Bagong Sikat at 7:30 p.m.

Collared were Edmarkson Ganceň18, single, of Bgy. Bagong Sikat, Rolando Dollete, 50, single, of CLSU compound, Edwin Ganceňa, 48, of Bgy. Bagong Sikat, and Arvin Beltran, 49, of Bgy. Poblacion North, all of the Science City of Muňoz.

City police head Lt. Col. Marlon M. Cudal said his men seized some P1,990 in total bets and assorted illegal gambling paraphernalia.

Illegal gambling charges have been slapped against the arrested seven suspects.
