
4 Reds give up in Ecija
SAN JOSE CITY — Foir suspected members of the New People’s Army surrendered to the authorities here on Friday afternoon.
Provincial police director Col. Jaime O. Santos said personnel from the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company based here led by Lt. Col. Marco A. Dadez joined forces with the 84th Infantry Battalion of the Army and the police stations of San Jose City, Guimba, Nampicuan, Carranglan, Rizal, Cuyapo and Talavera, including PIU-NEPPO, RIU3, RID PRO3 and the 303rd RMFB3 in conducting special intelligence operations that facilitated the surrender of the four rebels.
Santos identified the four rebel surrenders as alias Ka Grace, a former member of Pulang Mandirigma under Josefino Corpuz Command from 1998 to 2000; alias Ka Joshua, also of the same group who has been a member from 2005 to 2006; alias Ka Diane, from 2002 to 2017; and alias Ka Rene/Pong, a coordinator and organizer of Josefino Corpuz Command from 1985 to 2019.
Santos said the four surrenderers will be evaluated prior to their enrollment to the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) and the availment of holistic package of benefits such as livelihood, education, housing, and legal assistance, in line with the implementation of Regional Task Force-To end Local Communist Armed Conflict in Central Luzon under Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon.
