
3 nabbed, 24 MJ bricks seized in Tarlac City
THREE men were arrested and 24 marijuana bricks worth at least P4.6 million were confiscsted from them during a buy-bust Sunday in front of a mall in Tarlac City.
Tarlac police director Col. Renante Cabico identified the arrestes suspects as Cornelio Chumil-Ang, 33, driver and resident of Bgy. Saclit, Sadanga, Mountain Province; Jomar Pallar, 24, also of Bgy. Saclit, Sadanga; and Marcelino Caraowa, of Bgy. Aguid, Sagada, Mountain Province.
Cabico said joint operatives of the Tarlac-PDEU led by PMaj. Rocky Ramos de Guzman and the Tarlac City police station conducted the drug sting in front of the Uniwide Sales Mall in Bgy. San Nicolas, Tarlac City around 1 a.m. on Sunday.
The suspects yielded two plastic containers with 24 bricks of dried marijuana leaves and 26 rolled marijuana leaves with an estimated street value of P4.6 million, two bottles of cannabis oil worth P30,000 each, P1,000 bill marked money and 68 pieces of P1,000 boodle bills, as well as two cellphones. The van and mini dump truck used by the suspects in transporting the illegal goods were impounded.
Cabico said the three suspects were brought to the PDEU Office at Camp Gen. Francisco S. Macabulos in Bgy. San Vicente, Tarlac City while charges are being prepared against them.
