CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas – Three men on early morning on Wednesday ended up in jail after the firearms were confiscated from them during “Oplan Sita” conducted by the Rosario Municipal Police Station (MPS) along Poblacion, Rosario, Batangas, provincial police PIO chief Police Lieutenant Pauline P. Fernando said.

A report by Batangas Police Director Col. Pedro Soliba to P/Brig. Gen. Jose Melecio C. Nartatez, Jr., PRO-Calabarzon (Police Regional Office Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) regional director, the suspects will be facing charges of violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Based on the investigation, two motorcycles were stopped for inspection during a Rosario Police checkpoint at around 1:45 a.m. on February 22.

Police noticed the three riders were carrying sling bags, and when asked what was in their sling bags, the three men admitted that they were carrying guns.

The suspects voluntarily surrendered their sling bags containing firearms to the police and failed to show proper documents and licenses, which led to their arrest.

Seized were three units of cal. 45 handguns, magazines, and ammunition from the suspects.

The suspects are presently detained at Rosario MPS while charges are being prepared.

“We keep reminding our Batangenyo compatriots that guns are not the answer to any problem. If it cannot be avoided and it is necessary, make sure the document is complete so as not to be disturbed and get into trouble. I am also pleading with the people of Batangas, who know about people who have guns and use them to threaten and commit crimes and do not hesitate to speak up and report their activities. Let’s live right, fair, and simple,” reminded Soliba.
