IMUS CITY, Cavite — Seven newly designated police chiefs are now on their respective assignment based on the order of reshuffle of Police Brigadier General Eliseo Cruz, Calabarzon Regional Police Director, last January 10, 2022.

The regional police director said that it is necessary to reassign these police commanders to other posts as part of the Philippine National Police program to give chance to others to hold higher positions as all of them have completed the 2-year maximum term in their former respective positions.

Based on the Commission on Election (COMELEC) Guidelines and Procedures in Securing the Conduct of the 2022 National and Local Elections, a Chief of Police has to be reassigned if he is found to have a relative up to the fourth degree of consanguinity running for this year’s election in the area where he is assigned.

“Ginagawa natin ito upang masiguro nating magiging patas ang pag-implementa ng batas at walang kinikilingan ang ating mga kapulisan lalong-lalo na kapag sila ay may kamag-anak na tumatakbo sa isang posisyon sa gobyerno,” Cruz said.
