2 German nationals robbed at Ecija resort

GABALDON, Nueva Ecija — Two German nationals taking a vacation at a local resort in this town on Sunday were robbed of their belongings which were placed inside travelling bags at their rented nipa hut.

Police said the two foreigners identified as Maximillian Michael Palm and Patrick Stephan were resort guests at the Rea’s Bamboo Resort located in Bgy. Calabasa.

The duo were accompanied by resort owner Aurea DS. Blackman when the theft complaint was filed before the police at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The victims told police that at 2:40 a.m. they discovered that their travelling bags were opened, with its contents scattered outside their rented nipa hut.

Also, found missing were their P9,000 in cash, an IPhone XS, a KINDLE e-book, a Sparkasse debit card and an identification card.

The total estimated value of the stolen items was P24,432.

After a follow-up investigation conducted by Capt. Henry S. Mejia, police said they were able to identify one of the three suspects in the theft incident.

Police are readying to file theft charges against the suspects before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Cabanatuan City.
