TANZA, Cavite — At least 129 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) senior citizens and those with comorbidities detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) were inoculated against the COVID-19 last June 10 at the Municipal Jail in Daang Amaya.

At the same time, 22 personnel of BJMP assigned to the facility received their second dose through the local government’s Resbakuna-on-Wheels program.

“Naging maganda po ang turn-out ng Mobile vaccination namin dito sa Tanza. ‘Yung mga seniors and persons with comorbidity, no need to go to Vistamall in Bgy. Paradahan and Tanza Specialists Medical Center (TSMC) for vaccine. Kami na po ang lumalapit sa mga Tanzeños,” said Dr. Ruth Punzalan, Tanza Rural Health Officer.

“We pay attention also to PDLs to be vaccinated so that they can be safe from COVID-19 despite they are in jail,” Punzalan added.

Around 850 residents were inoculated in a five-day mobile vaccination of both the A2 and A3 priority groups, or senior citizens and persons with comorbidity, with 212 residents vaccinated in Amaya 7, 105 in Paradahan 2, 84 in Tres Cruses and 300 in Bgy. Santol.

Punzalan said TSMC is open for vaccination on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while that in Vistamall is on Wednesdays and Fridays.
